Langkawi here we come!
Day 1: The gang planned to celebrate new year in langkawi. I said I can't go when BJ invited me but I managed to convince alice to jaga the shop. So last minute shawna n I decided to join the group. My reason for going is that I don't wanna spend NY in KL alone! Shawna will not go if I don't so we got tickets last minute. 30th came n we were to meet at 4pm to leave for the airport. Shawna n her hons came at 430 coz I told them there is no need to hurry as our flight is at 650. We rushed and guess wat! Flight was delayed to 9pm. Everyone was introduced to everyone and we had a drink at coffee bean to kill time. After chaecking in at 7ish, we went to Mcd’s for dinner which was suppose to be seafood by the seaside if it had not been for the delay. After dinner we discovered that the flight is further delayed to 1020. (By the way I am still at the airport now) so we decided to just lepak on the floor, we held hands and made a BIG circle! We started to plan wat games to play. We thought of all the games we played back in school. So we sat down while some decided to take a nap and some played cards. Shawna n I listened to the ipod while she reads my book and I write this note. The time is now 950 and we r going in now. Till langkawi.... Roger n out!
Day 2: Just when we thougt we were taking off, the plane made a left turn and then stopped. Apparently, they had technical problems and we had to switch plane. Imagine than, luggage had to be moved from 1 plane to another! We only took off at 1150pm! That is 5 whole hours of delay! We finally arrived at 1240 am checked in and there was no towel! It was like a dejavu, I've been to this charlie's motel ages ago with the cekak team. Its kinda run down now! Meng Hann, Gan, Shawna n I shared a room. The guys are so funny. We were very muhibah! We had a Muslim, Christian, Hindu and a Buddhist is 1 room! Truly Malaysian…how cool is that! After chucking our bags into the room, we walked to the nearest stall and makan while watching football, and I managed to get my towel from a nearby shop. Then we balik tidur.
We woke up at 10nish today very hungry with our main agenda to look for a new motel/hotel. Anyway, it was also Raya Haji on 31st Dec 06 and it was my first time away from home and family! Thanks to 3G, the family managed to call me and we could all see 1 another thru the phone.
We walked like what seem forever, and found a new place! We paid deposit and looked for food, after waiting for ages, we got our food, went back to motel no 1 to check out. Now the time is 130 n we r waiting for Gan n Jaya to come back with the car and go to the new hotel! I cant remember the name of the hotel we went to but it was new and everything looks A LOT better and cleaner!
After checking in, we went to the beach and lepak. We all went into the water and there was this psycho Japanese guy who was riding the jet ski like a mad guy! I left after a while and went lepaking and basically stuffed myself like a pig! It was so unlike ME! I sat at this café, over looking the ocean, had a beautiful view in front of me and ordered chicken wings, pizza and chocolate shake! Yummy!!! MH, Shawna n I were suppose to go parasailing but Shawna changed her mind. We lazed around till 645 and I head back to the room 1st coz duty to The Almighty calls.
So the plan was to get ready, go to some fancy restaurant for dinner, head off to a pub that belongs to Jaya’s friend, go to the beach and see the bond fire and fireworks, scream HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone around you and get drunk after that. Yeah so we kinda covered all that plus a bit of drama here and there, people getting pissed and each other a bit but all in all we had fun!
At dinner I met with Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Tun Dr Siti Hasmah and manage to get my picture taken with them. A dream comes true! At the beach, we had 2 friends went missing and some of us went crazy trying to locate them. It was freaky being the only one sober for the night but it was truly an experience to remember!

Day 3: Surprisingly, everyone was fine and no one had a major hangover. Since everyone woke up at different hours, Shawna n I went looking for our own breakfast. There wasn’t much to look for coz it was a public holiday! Later, everyone got ready and we hop into the van and went looking for food again…lunch… Found a mamak place in town, then did a bit of shopping, ciggies, liquor, chocs, ointment, etc. Jaya took us for a drive around the island and then back to the hotel to get ready for another dip in the ocean! Today we went on the Banana boat! It was 1 of those double bananas! We were trying very hard to topple it over but failed. There were more munching, drinking and swimming before heading back to the room to change and head off for dinner. I wanted sea food! Must have sea food so we went to this Chinese restaurant and had everything I was craving for the pass few months. I had a very satisfied stomach!
After dinner we went to this restaurant where everyone had more drinks including the “dentist chair”. I was the only one who had Masala Tea and was the only one dancing on the bar stool! Again everyone except me got drunk. Gan had to make a few trips back to the hotel to send the ladies.
Day 4: Most of us got an SMS from Airasia stating that our flight will be delayed AGAIN! It was scheduled for 830 but is now 1020. Were we surprised? I don’t think so! Thank God we all managed to change for an earlier 215 flight! We all packed, got lunch, went to the airport and headed home! I really enjoyed myself! Thank you everyone for the great experience. Hope everyone will have a wonderful and prosperous year ahead!!!
